The Case Study exam is a different beast.

Your approach to preparation can not be the same as for your previous ICAEW Advanced Level exams. It is not about sitting down with technical material and learning facts or models. You've already done this, and it is assumed knowledge.

The Case Study exam is about demonstrating understanding through assimilating information, structuring problems, applying judgement, drawing conclusions and making recommendations.

Getting started with your preparation

You are about to qualify as an ACA, and to do so you must demonstrate your learning has become part of how you operate in the business world - how you understand and navigate the world you work in.

As with all exams, this demonstration must be done a certain way to enable a fair assessment of a large group. So not only must you show your understanding, but you must show it in a way that follows the rules of the Case Study exam.

That's why getting started now is going to make a huge difference come June and July. If you understand the rules of the Case Study now, and most importantly, how to follow them, you will be able to spend the last 6 weeks of preparation focused on the live Case Study business. By doing this you will be giving yourself time to analyse the Advance Information and build your working knowledge using our Mock Exams.
